Tonanco Marine Transmissions
Designed for commercial and pleasure applications the Tonanco range of transmissions are built in Japan and are of a very strong and sturdy construction with many ratio options.
These heavy duty transmissions are of the countershaft design, so that the units can be operated continuously in either forward or reverse within their full rated capacities. This type of construction also results in a positive neutral position.
The hydraulic system is trouble free, including oil-cooled and actuated clutches. The "finger tip" control valves insure immediate response. Antifriction Cylindrical Roller Bearings, Tapered Roller Bearings and accurate extra wide gears provide long life.
The optional top mounted PTO is also actuated by a separate, self contained hydraulic clutch. This is a unique feature of TONANCO transmissions.
